The finished bread has an excellent texture.

I hope this helps -

Natalie @ Gluten A Go GoNatalie, aka "Sheltie Girl"https://www.blogger.com/profile/01046499785389700382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-66727514820275607182009-04-11T00:52:00.000-04:002009-04-11T00:52:00.000-04:00Hi BC - I would guess if you ground beans a lot it...Hi BC - I would guess if you ground beans a lot it would eventually dull your blades. If you have a really nice blender you might want to consider doing this with a less expensive coffee grinder. Maybe you could find one at a local thrift shop.

The beans are dried...straight out of the package.

I agree...I don't think garbanzo bean flour tastes all that good either. I've tried garfava flour too (a mix of garbanzo & fava bean) and I can't say I'm crazy about it either. White bean flour is much milder in flavor than garbanzo bean flour. If you like or can tolerate soy bean flour you could try this variation on the bread: 75 g brown rice flour, 50 g sweet rice flour, 50 g arrowroot starch,61 g millet flour, 38 g soy bean flour.

I hope that helps -

NatalieNatalie, aka "Sheltie Girl"https://www.blogger.com/profile/01046499785389700382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-59462804073345102122009-04-09T02:00:00.000-04:002009-04-09T02:00:00.000-04:00Thanks! White bean sounds like the way to go! How does it do for texture?Ginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11588224204531062251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-59981194106642819562009-04-08T19:29:00.000-04:002009-04-08T19:29:00.000-04:00I am intrigued - will this ruin a blender? I didn't like garbanzo bean flour but I'd be willing to try others.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02074159461937058094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-35341563498984983012009-04-07T19:15:00.000-04:002009-04-07T19:15:00.000-04:00Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment...Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment.

White bean flour is far milder than garbanzo bean flour. Soy flour is fairly mild and has the highest protein content that I've found of the bean flours.

NatalieNatalie, aka "Sheltie Girl"https://www.blogger.com/profile/01046499785389700382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-23019282221536116302009-04-07T06:30:00.000-04:002009-04-07T06:30:00.000-04:00The only bean flour I've ever baked with is soy - ...The only bean flour I've ever baked with is soy - I don't know why I'd never thought of using other beans, too.
I hope your pup has gotten over the grinding!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-85791345241181800572009-04-07T01:44:00.000-04:002009-04-07T01:44:00.000-04:00I've actually stopped using bean flours in my GF f...I've actually stopped using bean flours in my GF flour mixes because the flavors were too strong. I couldn't get over my scones smelling like salty beans! I think the only bean flour I tried was garbanzo. How much milder is the white bean flour, and what type of recipe do you use it in?Ginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11588224204531062251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26815645.post-68179073150047678932009-04-06T11:28:00.000-04:002009-04-06T11:28:00.000-04:00Ooooh, nice!!Ooooh, nice!!LizNoVeggieGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00785142908687097216noreply@blogger.com
